Hoshiarpur, January 30 (Punjab Khabarnama): On the Sacrifice Day of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country were remembered today at the District Administrative Complex. On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (R) Rahul Chaba, Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Divya P. Apart from this, officers and employees of various departments offered flowers to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Meanwhile, the Punjab Police unit paid tribute by turning down their arms. After this, all the officers and employees remembered the sacrifice of the martyrs by observing a two minute silence.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal paid homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and other martyrs of the country and asked them to follow the path of truth, love and non-violence shown by Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and follow his ideals. He said that Mahatma Gandhi ji had led the freedom struggle by following the path of non-violence and satyagraha along with giving important contribution in the freedom struggle of the country. He said that we are all enjoying freedom today only because of the sacrifices made by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and other great patriots, martyrs and freedom fighters. So we all should always strive to fulfill the dreams set by these great personalities. Meanwhile, he also inspired the officers and employees to perform their duty with full honesty, diligence, discipline and dedication.
