While efforts are being made by the Punjab government to raise the standard of education of government school students, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, established by the Punjab government in the border district of Ferozepur, conducts national level JEE Mains for medical and non-medical students of government schools. And for prestigious tests like NEET, a mock test was conducted. In which about 600 students from about 20 schools of the district participated. The purpose of this mock test was to familiarize the students with the methods of questions asked in these national level tests. In order to conduct this mock test, the district education officer Mr. Chamkaur Singh Sara and the principal Karian Pahlwan and the coordinator Madam Sunita prepared the students of the government schools with full cooperation and special efforts. Paper preparation and all necessary arrangements were made by AK Asati, Dean Academic Dr. Tejit Singh, Heads of Departments, Faculty and Staff to conduct this test. In the JEE Mains test Sukhveer Kaur got the first place, Harshdeep Kaur got the second place and Poonam got the third place. It may be mentioned that all these students are students of Saragarhi Meritorious School Ferozepur. Deepka Government Senior Secondary School of Eminence Guru Harshay got first place in NEET test, Sharandeep Kaur Senior Secondary School of Eminence Mallanwala Khas got second place and Kevin Senior Secondary School of Eminence Guru Harshay got third place. The university encouraged these students by giving them certificates and badges of honor.
