Ludhiana February 8 (Punjab khabarnama) : Government College Ludhiana (Girls) organized a trilingual poet’s court in Government Women’s College in Ludhiana by Department of Language Punjab. During this, the personalities present were Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill (Shromi Kavi), Principal Suman Lata, Sardarni Navdeep Kaur D.D.P. Dr. Sumit Brar, Avtar Singh APO, this year’s Indian Literature Academy award winner Swaranjit Svi, Satish Gulati, Dr. Jagwinder Jodha, K. Sadhu Singh, Jasleen Kaur, Dr. Aziz Parihar Mukesh Alam, Jagjit Kafir, Dr. Rakesh, Varinder Jatwani, Komaldeep Kaur, Gurminder Guri and other personalities released the poster of Bal Varnamala Geet (T) Tanka prepared by Karamjit Singh Grewal (Lalton) with their kar kamals.
It is worth mentioning that teacher Karamjit Grewal, who is known for teaching mother tongue in a unique way through songs, made videos to teach Punjabi alphabet along with his school children. In a very short time, these videos were heard in large numbers on social media. They were very popular in the country and abroad. Several videos have crossed lakhs and one video tanka(t) has crossed 10 lakhs which is a new record in children’s songs. Many schools are showing these songs on the big screen to school children.Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill congratulated Karamjit Singh Grewal Grewal (Lalton) and said that people’s love for this song is a good omen for children’s literature. Such efforts are very important to connect children with constructive literature and mother tongue Punjabi. In the era of dirty songs, such efforts like Taazi Paun de Bulle are much needed today. Songs that connect our children with mother tongue, culture and heritage should be encouraged.
National award-winning teacher Karamjit Singh Grewal had earlier received the first all-India award from the American India Foundation Trust for his “Let’s Learn Punjabi Sikhye Video”. 10 books of children’s songs, children’s stories and children’s plays have come out for children’s literature. The book “Chhad Ke Skul Mana Aa” has also won the best children’s book award from the Punjabi Sahitya Akademi Ludhiana. A song “Lullaby” written and sung by him has also received a prize of 1.5 lakhs from the Government of India. Under his guidance, the school children have conducted many successful presentations at the national and international level. Serving as a Punjabi Master at Government High School Kheri-Jhamedi, this teacher has written and sung many more songs for children. Organizes artistic workshops for children.
S. Karamjit Singh Grewal vowed that he would dedicate his future services to Punjabi Sahit Akademi Ludhiana, the great organization that awarded me the first ever Children’s Literature Award. Therefore, they are now in the election field for executive membership in the elections to be held on March 3.
