Farm Day was celebrated on different techniques of paddy straw management in village Bandar Jatana

April 19 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Using different farming techniques (machinery) used for stubble management like Smart Seeder, Happy Seeder, Super Seeder and Surface Seeder, paddy stubble was sown without fire and the field day was celebrated on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vineet Kumar participated as the chief guest.

Harvesting experiments of wheat crop were conducted from the fields with four technologies used on the spot so that the performance of each technology could be known. This field day was jointly organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and RGR Cell under the Parana project. was celebrated

Addressing the farmers, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vineet Kumar said that open burning of crop residue in the fields produces a lot of toxic smoke which is very dangerous for human health. He said that many latest farming techniques have been developed by Punjab Agricultural University for the management of paddy stubble, in which wheat can be sown by using Happy Seeder, Smart Seeder and Surface Seeder machines to manage the paddy stubble in the field. can

He congratulated the concerned farmer for planting wheat with Surface Seeder, Happy Seeder and Super Seeder machines without setting fire to paddy stubble and expressed hope that no farmer will set fire to paddy stubble after the upcoming paddy season. And wheat will be sown using these techniques especially surface seeder.

He appealed to all the farmers that every voter must go to vote using the right to vote given in the constitution during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He also instructed all the combine owners of district Faridkot to get Super SMS with the combine harvester first before harvesting the paddy so that the farmers do not face any kind of difficulty during wheat sowing.

Progressive farmer Tarsem Singh shared his experience on this occasion and said that wheat sowing was done using spur seeder, happy seeder, smart seeder and surface seeder in an area of 5 acres without setting the paddy stubble on fire. He said that he planted 40 to 45 kg of seeds per acre, due to which the costs have also reduced significantly, the weeds have reduced and the straw left in it will act as fertilizer in the paddy crop, which will improve the health of the land. He said that since the use of herbicides and pesticides is very less, it becomes a kind of organic wheat.

He said that in the surface seeder technique, agricultural costs are the lowest. Dr. Amrik Singh advised the farmers to make necessary arrangements to avoid the incidents of wheat crop and grain fire, Dr. Kulwant Singh used fertilizers in the soil. On the basis of the test report, Dr. Harmanjit Singh on the activities being done by RGR Cell, Dr. Gurpreet Singh on the importance of green manure, Eng. Harcharan Singh on the use of agricultural machinery, Dr. Navpreet Singh Gave detailed information about paddy cultivation.
