The plastic collected during the cleaning campaign was sent to the MRF center

Patiala, February 8 (Punjab khabarnama): Continuing the special plastic cleaning campaign under the direction of Municipal Corporation Patiala Joint Commissioner Babandeep Singh Walia, at Madi Sadak Tripdi, under the supervision of Sanitary Inspector Jagtar Singh, by collecting plastic such as envelopes, chips packets, wrappers, plastic packaging and other plastics from the road. The focal point was sent to the MRF center with a quantity of about 22 kg.
On this occasion, Jagtar Singh said that while plastic waste spoils the appearance of the city, it also has a very bad effect on the environment. He also said that in order to ban single-use plastic, municipal corporation Patiala is issuing challans to those who manufacture, store, sell and use such plastics. Mandeep Singh, Community Facilitator said that this campaign will be continued and people will be connected with this campaign.
Today, the Municipal Corporation also organized an awareness session in this regard at Yadavindra Public School. Atma Ram Senior Secondary School also started a cleaning campaign and made their campus plastic free along with the children.
Jawala Singh, Community Facilitator from Municipal Corporation Patiala, said that every school and college can cooperate to make Patiala city free from plastic waste at their own level and can make their institution single-use plastic free.
Amandeep Sekhon, IEC expert, thanked the city residents for their cooperation and said that if every citizen of the city refuses to take plastic envelopes and disposables, then the burden of waste falling on the city will be greatly reduced.
