Mr. Ashok Chalhotra, Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Ropar Range today held a meeting with liquor traders of Ropar district regarding Excise Policy 2024-25 at his office.
During the meeting, Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Mr. Ashok Chalhotra took feedback from all the contractors regarding the current excise policy for the year 2023-24, in which all the contractors expressed their satisfaction with the current excise policy. He also gave suggestions about Excise Policy 2024-25.
The Assistant Commissioner (Excise) assured the contractors that their suggestions will be sent to the head office today so that a decision can be taken on these suggestions at the government level. After this, he also asked about the problems faced by the contractors and encouraged them as the contractors have fulfilled the target of revenue collection of the government of Ropar district so far.
Finally, the Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Mr. Ashok Chalhotra strictly instructed the contractors to provide quality liquor at reasonable rates fixed by the government for weddings and general public and also reprimanded that the remaining 2 months of this excise policy In case any contractor is found violating the excise policy or excise rules then strict action will be taken against him.
Excise Officer Ropar Shekhar, Excise Inspector Ropar Zorawar Singh and Excise Inspector Morinda Navnish Ary apart from all contractors of Ropar district participated in this meeting in which Vijay Kumar Tinku, Anil Kumar Badri, Hemraj Kaku and Tushar Bhardwaj were also present.
