May 3 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Under the anti-drug campaign launched by Noorpur district police, the police has achieved a major success against the drug mafia, in which the police have seized hundreds of bottles of English liquor being transported illegally. Police achieved this success near Hill Top Temple on Pathankot Jalandhar National Highway.
S.P. Noorpur Ashok Ratna said that in the said action, success was achieved in recovering 45 boxes (540 bottles) of English liquor from the possession of Sunny Puri son Satish Puri and Gaurav son Ravi Kumar resident of Pathankot from their Fortuner vehicle number 0 (HP 39 F 6684). . On which the above two accused have been arrested and an Excise Act case has been registered against them in the police station Damtal and the said liquor and the Fortuner vehicle have also been confiscated. Further action is being taken in the above mentioned case as per rules. He said that the campaign of District Police Noorpur against illegal drug trade will continue in future also. It is being told that the said liquor was to be used in the elections, but the police foiled their attempt.
