Holds interactive session with Meritorious Students from underprivileged strata of the border district

Fazilka, May 1 (Punjab Khabarnama) : In a heartwarming and rare gesture today, Fazilka police in collaboration with District Administration and Judiciary honoured 18 meritorious students along with their parents and teachers, who had scored exceptional marks in recently declared Class 10 PSEB results.

This group of ambitious girl students mostly from Govt schools of villages situated at the International Indo-Pak Border belonging to underprivileged backgrounds, was enthusiastic to meet the top bosses of District Administration, Judiciary and Police as they have the ambitions to go to these posts in future. Interestingly, most of them were first-generation learners as they were the first members of their families to attend the school. Accompanied by their proud parents and teachers, their sense of excitement was palpable.

When questioned about what they aspire to become they said IAS, IPS, judge even one girl said next Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Their family profile consisted of artisans, daily wagers, marginal farmers, construction workers, and canteen workers. They were honoured with specially designed medals, certificates and a token of appreciation.

The DC Fazilka Dr Senu Duggal & Session Judge Fazilka also welcomed 3 students out of this group who wanted to pursue judiciary and Civil administration as their career goals.

The SSP Pragya Jain motivated them to follow the right path, avoid shortcuts, always keep a plan B and focus on long-term goals without getting distracted. She also specifically thanked the teachers for their invaluable contribution to nation building.

One of such student Anita Rani of Village Dhab Khushal Joiya who scored 97.69 percent marks in her board exam said that her father is working an employee on tent house and she wants to be a UPSC officer. Kirandeep Kaur of Village Greeba Sandhar who scored 96.92 percent marks also wants to be IAS Officer.
