17 october 2024 : An Improvised Explosive Device (IED), suspected to have been dropped by a drone, was recovered near the Indo-Pak border. According to a case filed at the State Special Operation Cell police station in Fazilka, Inspector Satinder Singh Brar stated that during a patrol by the Fazilka team, Inspector Jatinderjeet Singh received information about a suspicious consignment found near the Government Primary School in Bahadur Ke village.

The consignment, recovered by a central security agency team led by BSF Assistant Commandant Vir Bahadur Singh, included an iron box, two ‘Uniross’ extra heavy-duty batteries, a green bag with unusual markings, packaging covered in yellow and transparent tape, and thermocol pieces. The items were handed over to the patrolling police.

The iron box reportedly contained an IED, likely intended for subversive activity, but was intercepted by the BSF before it could be retrieved. A case has been registered under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, and further investigations are ongoing.
