17 october 2024 : A distressing video has emerged showing a snatching incident that occurred in Phase-3A of Mohali, where an unidentified masked individual pursued two women returning from the market and stole a gold chain from one of them.
The victim, a 35-year-old NRI who recently arrived from Germany, screamed and attempted to escape as the assailant chased her in broad daylight to snatch her chain.
The incident unfolded on October 12 around 5:42 PM when the youth, whose face was covered, first tried to steal the woman’s gold chain while she was in a park but failed. As the two women attempted to flee, the snatcher pursued one of them, ultimately succeeding in snatching the chain from her neck on the road before escaping. She was left traumatized and with bruises on her neck.
CCTV footage reveals that there were no other people around the victim’s home during the incident.
The police have filed a snatching case at the Mataur police station.
