Ludhiana, February 16 (Punjab khabarnama) : Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Friday held detailed deliberations with officials of key departments carrying out infrastructure development projects, under state master level plan, part of the PM Gatishakti project.
Presiding over a meeting in the district administrative complex, Sawhney said that the departments including local bodies, PSPCL, transport, police, PWD, NHAI and others would be integrated digitally through geo-tagging on the Gatishakti portal. She said that for developing multimodal connectivity and bridging the missing infrastructure gaps, this geo-tagging will help in more efficient planning and execution. She said that this process was aimed at bringing all departments on a single portal to stay updated about their ongoing projects. She said that by geo-tagging, the relevant information about projects can be easily accessed and tracked on a centralized platform by any department. This will also improve the coordination between different departments during the planning of any project. For example, once a road was constructed by MC, other agencies dug up the newly constructed road again for laying of cables, gas pipelines etc which caused great inconvenience but was also a wasteful expenditure. To address this, efforts were being made to increase coordination so that all cables, pipelines etc. could be laid simultaneously with the construction of the road.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the City Logistics Plan of Ludhiana and gave directions to the officials for making proposals for new development projects.
