21 august 2024 : Brandon Skelnar, who portrays Atlas in Justin Baldoni’s highly anticipated film It Ends With Us, has taken the initiative to alleviate the tension surrounding the production, mirroring the role he plays in the movie. He has openly addressed the negativity stemming from rumors of discord between his co-stars, Justin and Blake Lively, who is both the lead actress and co-producer of the film.
In a recent Instagram post, Brandon shared a thoughtful message regarding the ongoing controversy. He stated, “Colleen (Hoover, the author of the book on which the film is based) and the women in this cast embody hope, resilience, and the empowerment of women to choose a better path for themselves. To vilify the women who have invested their hearts and souls into this project, driven by a strong belief in its message, is counterproductive and undermines the essence of the film. It is, in fact, contrary to its purpose.”
He further emphasized that any behind-the-scenes issues should not overshadow the intentions behind the film’s creation. “It has been disheartening to witness the level of negativity circulating online,” he remarked. “Every individual involved in this film was acutely aware of the responsibility we bore in its production—a responsibility to all women who have faced generational trauma, domestic abuse, or who struggle with self-acceptance.”
Skelnar urged, “This film is not intended to portray women as the ‘villains.’ Let us collectively move past that narrative. I implore you to consider who benefits from the hate you spread online. Reflect on whether your opinions are grounded in fact or if you simply wish to be part of a conversation.” He concluded his message with a call for unity: “Let us contribute to something more positive together—a new narrative for women and all individuals everywhere. Lead with love and kindness,” he added.
