SAS Nagar, July 9, 2024 : To facilitate the residents with citizen-centric services with ease about 425 types of services related to different departments are being provided to the people in 14 rural and urban Sewa Kendras under one roof in SAS Nagar district timely, said Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain, IAS, at the District Administrative Complex, Mohali.
Divulging the details of the applications processed by the Sewa Kendras, the Deputy Commissioner said that a total of 25,84,177 applications on behalf of various departments were received from January 2024 to June 2024 in 11 urban Sewa Kendras and 03 rural Sewa Kendras, out of which a total of 24,12,509 services were disposed of. She further said that as many as 8,64,459 services are related to Health and Family Welfare Department, 73436 to the Department of Home Affairs and Justice, 2,94,030 related to the Personnel Department, 24097 to the Rural Development and Panchayat Department, 1,25,921 of Social Security, Women and Child Development, 01 of NRI Department and 79 of the Department of Agriculture were disposed of in time.
Apart from this, applications related to various other departments were also received, which have been disposed of on time. The remaining applications are under process and will be disposed of as per the stipulated time limit. Mrs Jain said that the token number related to the service yet to apply at Sewa Kendra can also be obtained over the phone by sending “Token Booking” in Roman script to WhatsApp number 98555-01076.
The Deputy Commissioner said that apart from these services, Punjab State monthly and Basant Panchami lottery services are also available in the Sewa Kendras including some other services such as money transfer, insurance (motor vehicle), Dengue Insurance and mobile/DTH recharge etc. All these citizen services come under the purview of ‘The Punjab Transparency and Accountability of Delivery of Public Services’ Act which bounds the concerned departments to dispose of the applications timely.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the Department of Governance Reforms, Government of Punjab has also on-boarded Patwaris in the e-Governance system. With this, people will now be able to avail most of the document verification services at home. In this, the verification process for various certificates including caste certificate, residence, old age pension scheme and income certificate will be streamlined. Login IDs of Patwaris have been created and Patwaris will now be able to provide stamps and signatures on their verification reports to the applicants online. Once the application is submitted, the application will be sent online by the concerned office to the concerned Patwari and the beneficiaries will not have to visit the office.
The Deputy Commissioner said that by keeping regular monitoring, it is ensured that no citizen faces any problem in the delivery of public services. She appealed to the residents that if any problem still arises then bring it to her notice, immediate solution to the problem will be ensured.
