Increasing number of solar panels in Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, the government has decided to make Ayodhya a solar city, and work has also started for this. A target has been set to install 25 lakh solar rooftop panels in the state in the next 3 years. So far 43,000 people have installed solar panels in the state, and people are completely satisfied with these panels.
1.30 crore people registered
So far more than 1.30 crore people have registered under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. However, it may take some time to apply as it can take up to a month for the subsidy to be released but the government is planning to settle it within 7 days.
Subsidy on solar panels
Under this scheme, the government gives subsidy for installing solar panels on the roof of the house, which reduces the electricity bill. Apart from this, you can also generate more electricity and sell it to the government. The government gives the following subsidy on installing solar panels:
30,000 rupees per kilowatt on panels up to 2 kilowatts,
48,000 rupees per kilowatt on panels up to 3 kilowatt,
Subsidy up to Rs 78,000 on panels above 3 kW.
How to avail the benefit of the scheme?
To avail the benefits of this scheme, you have to follow the following procedure:
- Register: First of all, register by visiting the website https://www.pmsuryaghar.gov.in/ or register offline from the nearest post office.
- Enter your details: While registering, enter your electricity distribution company, consumer number, mobile number and email.
- Fill the form: Once you are registered, fill the application form for solar panel.
- Get Feasibility Approval: Once you get Feasibility Approval, get the solar panels installed from a registered vendor.
- Get net meter installed: After installing solar panels, apply for net meter.
- Get Commissioning Certificate: After inspection by DISCOM, Commissioning Certificate will be issued.
- Receive Subsidy: Finally after submitting your bank account details and cancelled cheque the subsidy will be transferred to your bank account within 30 days.
The cost of installing solar panels can be as follows:
- 1 kW panel: Around Rs 90,000
- 2 kW panel: Around Rs 1.5 lakh
- 3 kW panel: Around Rs 2 lakh
