17 october 2024 : Anupam Kher’s iconic film Khosla Ka Ghosla is set for a theatrical re-release on October 18, and he describes it as a “fantastic cult film.” Reflecting on the film’s journey, Kher explains that they didn’t anticipate it becoming a cult classic, facing numerous challenges during production. However, it emerged as a unique project with lasting appeal. He highlights its “amusing power,” noting how viewers often stop to watch it on TV due to its iconic dialogues and relatable characters.

The 69-year-old actor is thrilled that the younger generation will now get the chance to experience the film on the big screen, calling it a “cool film” that resonates with Gen Z, who often view Bollywood as traditional.

Kher recalls the financial struggles faced during production, sharing that securing funding was difficult, and the team endured extreme heat while filming in Delhi. Despite the challenges, he believes the script was one of the most powerful he had read at the time.

When asked about the trend of re-releases, Kher remarks that not all films can draw audiences back to theatres, as nostalgia only works for select titles. However, he is confident that Khosla Ka Ghosla will perform well, as people love to relive the emotions associated with their youth.

Regarding a potential sequel, Kher mentions that producer Savita Raj has hinted at the possibility, though no script has been finalized. If the sequel’s script matches the original’s quality, Kher believes it would be a great opportunity to be involved again.
