A holiday has been announced in Punjab due to Panchayat elections. Due to the elections, October 15 has been declared a gazetted holiday in Punjab. All government offices/boards/corporations and
educational institutions will remain closed. Apart from this, government offices, boards, corporations will remain closed in Chandigarh.
Apart from this, the state government has declared a holiday on October 17 on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. All schools, offices will remain closed on this occasion.
