On September 23, 2024, Hockey India announced that Utkash will captain the Punjab team participating in the 14th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men’s Hockey Championship being held in Chandigarh. Hockey Punjab President Nitin Kohli and General Secretary Amarjeet Singh Puar shared this information, also naming Charanjit Singh as the team’s vice-captain.
The selected team includes Gursahil Singh, Amandeep, Kushal Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Utkash, Sunny, Arshdeep Singh, Anurag Singh, Inderjeet Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Varinder Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Jashanpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Ajeepal Singh, and Jeevan. The team will be coached by Bittu Singora, with Gurmeet Singh serving as the team manager. Punjab will play its first match against Karnataka on September 23.
