23 september 2024 : Rupali Ganguly recently took a scooter ride in Mumbai after attending the Star Parivaar Awards 2024, where she won the Best Patni and Best Bahu awards for her role in Anupamaa. In an effort to save time, she decided to ride pillion with her manager but drew criticism for not wearing a helmet. Many social media users called for the Mumbai police to take action against her for breaking traffic rules.
Comments online included: “Is the helmet fine only for the poor and non-famous?” and requests for the RTO Mumbai to issue a fine. Others expressed frustration that celebrities seem to evade such rules, noting, “If a regular person did this, they would be heavily fined.” One user remarked, “Without a helmet? I thought Anupamaa was a perfect role model; this is a bad example.”
Rupali is well-known for her lead role in the long-running Hindi daily soap Anupamaa, which has been airing since July 2020.
