17 september 2024 : Satya Nadella emphasized that leaders must adapt to changing times to effectively lead their teams and improve the world. In a conversation with LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, the Microsoft CEO highlighted three key leadership qualities: optimism, energy, and problem-solving. He noted that great leaders bring clarity to situations, generate positive energy, and address complex challenges.
Nadella also stressed the importance of leaders developing soft skills to better connect with and manage their teams, emphasizing that people are motivated by personal connections rather than policies. He mentioned that creating meaningful events, rather than just scheduling meetings, can enhance engagement.
Additionally, Nadella acknowledged Microsoft’s “productivity paradox,” where managers feel employees aren’t working hard enough, while employees believe they’re overworked. This dynamic highlights the challenges leaders face in balancing productivity perceptions.
