12 september 2024 : In the 14th Hockey India Junior Men’s National Championship being held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Punjab, teams from Haryana, Odisha, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Karnataka, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu each secured three points by winning their respective matches today.
In the first match, Haryana defeated Jammu and Kashmir with a substantial 14-0 margin. For Haryana, Nitin scored three goals, while Amit Khalsa, Manish, Ravi, and Navraj each contributed two goals. Prikshit Panchal, Sunil Man, and Sahil added one goal each.
In the second match, Odisha won 13-0 against Assam. The third match saw Dadra and Nagar Haveli beat Arunachal Pradesh 4-2, and in the fourth match, Karnataka defeated Andhra Pradesh 6-1.
In the fifth match, Delhi narrowly won 4-3 against Kerala after a tough contest, while Tamil Nadu secured a victory over Gujarat in the sixth match.
The chief guests for today’s matches included Olympians Gundeep Kumar and Kapil Kohli (a former champion), as well as international player Ripudaman Kumar Singh, who met with the teams.
