May 31 (Punjab Khabarnama) : A case of robbery by beating a father and son in a train has come to light. According to the information received, last night some unknown people beat up a father and son from Jagraon while they were travelling in a train and snatched their cash. When the victims called on helpline number 100, they told them that it was a railway matter and asked them to call on helpline number 139. After this, when they called on 139, they asked them to get down at Pathankot station.
After this, GRP recorded the statements of the victims and admitted them to Civil Hospital Pathankot for treatment. Victim Rajan Singla told that his father is a businessman of Desi Ghee in Jagraon village and in this connection, his father Vipan Singla and he were going to Delhi to buy goods but unfortunately they fell asleep and when they woke up, they found themselves at Mathura station due to which they spent the night there and instead of going back to Delhi, they caught a train to go towards Jagraon.
Rajan told that after this, as soon as they reached near Ludhiana station, some unknown persons sitting in the train attacked his father and seriously injured him and snatched away the cash. He told that when he told the train staff and police personnel about this, instead of helping him, they misbehaved with him and also beat him, due to which he got scared and called on the helpline number. Due to this, he stopped at Pathankot Cantt station and GRP was informed. When Cantt station police station in-charge Palvinder Singh was talked to regarding this incident, he told that after receiving the complaint on the helpline number, both father and son were admitted to the hospital and their statements were recorded and sent to the GRP police station in Ludhiana and whatever action is required will be taken by Ludhiana GRP.
