May 27 (Punjab Khabarnama) : The dispute regarding the duty money for Sri Akhand Path Sahib became so serious that a minor Pathi was brutally murdered by the sevadar of Gurdwara Sahib. Police of Police Station City Tarn Taran reached the spot of the incident and started further action after taking possession of the body of the deceased.
Giving information, Jashandeep Singh, son of Ranjit Singh, resident of Varpal Kalan said that he recites Shri Akhand Path Sahib. His younger brother Manpreet Singh alias Mannu (16) also used to do Sri Akhand Path Sahib with him. Shubhakaran Singh son of Mangal Singh resident of Amritsar has actually been serving Gurudwara Baba Ashra Singh Main Road Amritsar Tarn Taran. Who also sets up a Shardai shop near Gurudwara Sahib. A transaction of Rs 2,000 was going on with Shubhakaran Singh regarding the duty of Shri Akhand Sahib. He reached Shubhakaran Singh’s shop with his brother Manpreet Singh and friend Chamkaur Singh. Duty money was demanded from Shubhakaran Singh. Then Shubhakaran Singh started arguing and attacked with a heavy stick. He defended himself by sitting on the ground. His brother Manpreet Singh came forward to protest the attack.
Meanwhile, Shubhakaran Singh attacked Manpreet Singh with a dagger. Manpreet Singh got injured due to a dagger attack near the chest. Manpreet Singh was admitted to Civil Hospital Tarn Taran for treatment, but doctors declared Manpreet Singh dead. Regarding this matter, Inspector Sunil Kumar, in-charge of Police Station City Tarn Taran, said that after taking possession of the dead body, a case has been registered against Shubhakaran Singh. A search has been started for Shubhakaran Singh, who absconded after committing the incident.
