May 27 (Punjab Khabarnama) : A 20-year-old truck driver, who was living in a live-in relationship in his girlfriend’s house in street number 2 of Ravidas Nagar, died under suspicious circumstances.
Shortly before his death, the driver had called his mother and said that his married girlfriend had been fighting for a long time, but shortly after the son’s call, the girlfriend called the boy’s mother and said that her son had hanged himself. Reported to have committed suicide. When the youth’s family reached the Civil Hospital, the youth was breathing but he died after some time. The deceased has been identified as Jaspal Singh alias Sukhman, son of Surendra Prasad Singh, resident of Navyug Colony Maqsudan. In the complaint given to the police, Jaspal’s mother Sunita told that Pinky, who lives in Ravidas Nagar, is married and lives with her mother. She has reportedly been divorced from her husband. Jaspal alias Sukhman was living in Pinky’s house for 6 months. Sunita said that on the late night of May 25, Jaspal called her and said that Pinky was fighting with him.
When Sunita asked him to leave everything and return home, Jaspal said that if he talks about coming home, Pinky blackmails him due to which he cannot come home. Sunita alleges that shortly thereafter, Pinky called from her son’s number and informed that Jaspal Singh had hanged himself at home, but he was breathing and he was taking Jaspal to the civil hospital. When Sunita also reached the Civil Hospital with her family, Pinky present there threatened her if she complained to the police and then left. Jaspal Singh was declared dead shortly after treatment. On the other hand, the family members have alleged that Pinky first beat their son unconscious and then hanged him to make his death a suicide. This information was given to the police after which the police of Station 1 reached the Civil Hospital. Police have recorded Sunita’s statement. If sources are to be believed, the police have registered case number 77 against Pinky under section 306. However, S. of Police Station Division No. 1. Echa. O.
