May 23 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Due to the scorching heat, the electrical wires caught fire in the D sub station of the Powercom Department, located near Thakur Dwar, the old area of the city. Within no time, the flames took a terrible form, due to which the electricity in many areas was affected.
Giving information related to the matter, SDO of Chaura Bazar Division of Power Com Department. Sushil Kumar said that immediately after receiving information regarding the matter, his team stopped the electricity supply in the area as a precautionary measure. He told that the flames were brought under control after some time by the team of departmental employees. Till the time of writing the news, efforts were being made by the team of employees to restore electricity supply in the area. According to the information, old electrical transformers and some other items are kept by the department in the D.sub station of the Power Com Department, which are being saved from the fire that broke out on the spot.
