May 22 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Of course, there is a strict ban on setting fire to Naad, but still hundreds of accidents are taking place every day due to burning of Naad, which leads to loss of lakhs of rupees as well as loss of precious lives.
Even animals and birds are dying but despite this the rules are being flouted by setting fire to the nad. These words were expressed by international human rights defender Punjab media in-charge Gurpreet Singh.
He said that last Tuesday night at around 9 pm, someone set fire to a wheat bundle in a residential area near a private school on Rajda Road and violated the rules. Let us tell you that this fire was so terrible that even the plants growing on the roadside got burnt and small animals and birds present on the ground also got affected by it.
Along with this, the terrible smoke of the fire spread into the houses of the area, making it difficult for people to breathe. Condemning the burning of this nad, Gurpreet Singh said that the district administration is sleeping in Kumbhakarni sleep and many accidents are happening but despite this the process of setting fire to the nad continues. He demanded from District Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur that strict action should be taken against such people.
