April 30 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Jathedar Singh Sahib of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh has taken strong notice of Congress leader Amrita Vading calling the Congress’ election symbol ‘Panja’ as the paw of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji during the election campaign. He said that use of Guru Sahib’s name and religious symbols by political leaders for political gains cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
In a statement issued by the secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh said that written complaints have been received at Sri Akal Takht Sahib that during the election campaign of her party, Congress leader Amrita Vading used the Congress election symbol as Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Vote has been demanded by calling it ‘Panja’. This has hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikhs a lot.
Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh said that Sikhs can never forget that the paw is the election symbol of the Congress Party which had attacked with cannons and tanks Sri Darbar Sahib and Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the centers of devotion and power of the Sikhs. Congress’s claws are stained with the blood of lakhs of innocent and unarmed Sikh youth by carrying out Sikh genocide from 1978 to 1995. He said in strong words that misuse of Guru Sahib’s name or religious symbols by Congress for its political purposes cannot be tolerated. He said that Amrita Vading should immediately repent her mistake. Along with this, he has warned that he should completely refrain from playing with religious sentiments in any form for political propaganda and political interests.
