District residents must exercise their franchise on the biggest festival of democracy: Komal Mittal

In the presence of the District Election Officer , ‘ Democracy Ki Jaago ‘ was taken out in collaboration with the villagers in village Rupowal of Udmur Assembly.

Villagers enthusiastically participated in the program organized under SWEEP activity.

Garhdiwala/Hoshiarpur, April 11 (Punjab Khabarnama) : As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and under the able leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal, various awareness programs are being run in the district to make people aware about voting and casting their votes. Under this series, a unique initiative was taken in village Rupowal of Udmur assembly , under which ‘ Democracy Ki Jago ‘ was taken out in the village. There is a very big and old banyan tree around the village and people gathered on the big platform built around it. During this time about 500 people of the village gathered. District Election Officer Komal Mittal was the chief guest in this Jago.  And SDM Tanda Vyom Bhardwaj participated as a special guest. The outline of the program was prepared by District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli , who was assisted by his Assistant Nodal Officer Akunr Sharma. During this, Assistant Nodal Officer Udmur Dr. spoke on behalf of the girl students of Government Senior Senior Secondary Smart School, Ambala Jatta.  Under the leadership of Kuldeep Singh Minhas, first Sweep Giddha was presented to make the voters aware about voting in a unique way , all the dialects of which were related to voter awareness. After this, taking the villagers along, a Jago was taken out to the beat of drums , which was led by the Deputy Commissioner. 

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal praised the school for this unique initiative and said that like in a marriage all the villagers are invited and then everyone comes together to celebrate in the village. Similarly, voting is also a great festival , in which we all together exercise our franchise. He called upon the group of district residents to exercise their franchise on the biggest festival of democracy. On this occasion, District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli and Assistant Nodal Officer Ankur Sharma also made the villagers aware about voting.  On this occasion, sweep icon Dr.  Only , Daksh Sohal, Sweep Nodal Officer Udmuud , Dr. Hardeep Singh Minhas Supervisor , BLO Jasveer Singh Bodal , Jagdeep Singh , Rajinder Singh , Hartej Kaur , Rajni Bala , Ranjit Kaur , Inderjit Singh and villagers were present.
