Jalandhar , March 11 (Punjab Khabarnama): With an aim to spread the consumer base of Punjab AGRO , the Punjab Government has signed an agreement with the SIDBI ( small industries development bank of India ) worth Rs . 250 crore which will be a game changer not only for the farming community but also for the consumers to avail the quality enriched eatable goods by Punjab AGRO .
Chairman Punjab AGRO Mangal Singh Bassi has hailed the decision of Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann for this historic decision to encourage the farmers especially the vegetable growing community in doaba region.
He said that some important project like value added processing unit at Jalandhar , automated waxing unit at hoshirapur , Chilli Processing centre at Abohar and ready to eat unit at Fatehgarh sahib are on advance stage which will provide a wide variety of foods to people as well as new markets for farmers in the state. He also said that to encourage the export of agri products Rs. 50 crore has been sanctioned in budget presented by the Finance minister of Punjab.
